This museum was established by Dr. Frank Chanboonyasit (Frankie Chan Tak Hong). With the purpose of:

1. Promote and support the study of research on Sang Hwang and the mushrooms medicinal properties.
2. Proceed to find income to support and promote public interest activities for the conservation and utilization of Sang Hwang mushrooms sustainably.
3. Promote and support academic seminar, symposium and conference.
4. Supporting scholarships for research on Sang Hwang medicinal mushrooms.
5. Conduct or cooperate with charitable organizations for charity and public benefit organizations for public benefit under approval of museum committee.
6. Not involved in politics in any way.

The museum collaborated with Amazing Grace Health Products, which has collected at least 100 species of Sang Hwang mushrooms. All of these species are exhibited in this museum. There are also mushroom specimens that can be served to universities or research institutes who want to study the Sang Hwang mushroom worldwide. This foundation and museum have a strong belief that Sang Hwang mushrooms will be a good choice for human health, today and in the future.
